Role: Head of Operations

Location: Kolkata

Role Purpose:

To lead and transform the organization's end-to-end supply chain ecosystem by integrating operational excellence, digital technologies, automation, and best-in-class supply chain practices. The incumbent will be responsible for building a scalable, technology-enabled, and cost-productive supply chain network that enhances customer service, improves inventory productivity, optimizes working capital, and supports business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy & Operations

- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations encompassing Procurement, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Logistics, Distribution, and Customer Fulfilment.
- Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
- Ensure optimal inventory availability while maintaining efficient working capital utilization.
- Drive operational excellence through process standardization, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Digital Transformation & Technology Enablement

- Lead the adoption of new-age technologies to enhance supply chain visibility, efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Drive implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, RFID-based inventory tracking, barcode systems, handheld technologies, and automation tools.
- Champion data-driven decision-making through dashboards, business intelligence tools, and real-time supply chain analytics.
- Evaluate emerging technologies including AI-driven forecasting, automation, IoT-enabled warehousing, and digital supply chain solutions to improve productivity and customer service.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure successful deployment, integration, and enhancement of supply chain systems.

Warehouse & Distribution Excellence

- Manage high-volume, technology-enabled warehousing operations with a focus on productivity,



accuracy, and service levels.
- Drive best practices in warehouse automation, inventory controls, cycle counting, slotting optimization, and throughput management.
- Ensure operational readiness for future scale through infrastructure, systems, and process enhancements.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, picking efficiency, order fulfillment, turnaround time, and cost per unit.

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

- Develop strategic sourcing frameworks to optimize procurement costs while ensuring quality and supply continuity.
- Establish robust vendor evaluation, development, and performance management systems.
- Build long-term partnerships with key suppliers to support business objectives and cost optimization initiatives.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement

- Drive continuous improvement programs to reduce supply chain costs and improve service levels.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process redesign, and operational efficiency enhancement.
- Establish robust controls to improve productivity across warehousing, transportation, procurement, and inventory functions.

Desired Experience

- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, and Distribution.
- Proven leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-location supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing technology-driven warehouses and distribution centres.
- Strong exposure to implementation and management of:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- ERP Platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
- RFID Technology
- Barcode & Scanning Solutions
- Inventory Automation Systems
- Supply Chain Analytics & BI Tools

- Experience in driving digital transformation and automation initiatives within supply chain functions.
- Prior experience in consumer products, retail, eyewear, fashion, FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution-intensive industries preferred.
