Position: UX Engineer (RAN)
Location: Kolkata or Gurgaon
Full time permamnent position
Jo b Description:
This specification describes the UX engineering role for a leading RAN product as it exists under the modernised toolchain a Figma-based, tokenised design system with AI integrated into the workflow. It is a forward-looking role definition, not a like-for-like restatement of how UX authoring has been done historically.
The role is materially shaped by three changes:
- Codification of the design language into tokens and reusable components.
- Occasional migration of legacy Adobe XD assets into Figma.
- The use of AI as part of day-to-day authoring.
The role works under senior product/UX steering: it executes and maintains the system within that steer; it does not set product direction.
Purpose:
Author user interface design within a leading RAN product team, inside a tokenised Figma design system, and help maintain that system turning requirements into system-compliant wireframes and storyboards, keeping the design language consistent, operating an AI-augmented workflow, and handing clean specs and design artefacts to the development team.
Core responsibilities:
- Author wireframes, storyboards and prototypes in Figma, within the tokenised product design system, from requirements and under senior steering.
- Contribute to maintaining the design system in Figma components, variables and tokens (colour, type, spacing, sizing, icons), and overall consistency.
- Operate the AI-augmented workflow use Claude or similar, constrained to the published Figma library, to scaffold layouts and speed up iteration, reviewing every output before it becomes an authoritative spec. This is a defining feature of the modernised role, not an optional extra.
- Administer design artefacts and developer handoff push slices, maintain measurements and specs, and keep the library accurate for the development team.
- Support developers on asset behaviour and specification queries.
Experience and skills:
- At least 2 to 3 years in UI/UX design or design-systems work. This is a junior-to-mid role, not entry-level the holder should already understand how a design system functions.
- Proficient in Figma (or robust, transferable equivalent experience).
- Design-systems literacy: tokens, component libraries, consistency, and the discipline of building within a system rather than reinventing per feature.
- Comfortable working with AI tooling as part of the authoring loop directing it, and critically reviewing its output rather than accepting it.
- Solid web UI fundamentals, and the judgement to work to a brand and design language.
