Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
- Supervise all manufacturing activities during the day/night shift.
- Ensure production targets are achieved in accordance with the daily production plan.
- Allocate work effectively to fabricators, welders, fitters, machinists, helpers, and contractors.
- Monitor production progress and resolve shop floor issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure smooth handover between day and night shifts.
Shop Floor Supervision
- Supervise fabrication, welding, assembly, machining, hydrotesting, painting, and dispatch preparation activities.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved engineering drawings, BOMs, WPS, and manufacturing procedures.
- Monitor manpower productivity and optimize resource utilization.
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure timely rectification of equipment breakdowns.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with applicable quality standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for stage inspections and final inspections.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of non-conforming materials.
- Maintain traceability of materials and components during production.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Enforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe working practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards (5S) across the shop floor.
- Report and investigate any safety incidents or near misses.
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and bought-out items.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and finished products.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily production reports, manpower attendance, and machine utilization records.
- Report production status, delays, quality issues,
and safety observations to management.
- Ensure accurate shift handover documentation.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate the night shift workforce.
- Monitor discipline, attendance, and productivity.
- Train operators and workmen on best manufacturing practices and safety procedures.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3-10 years of experience in fabrication or heavy engineering manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Production Supervisor or Shift In-charge.
- Experience in pressure vessel, filtration equipment, skid, piping, or process equipment manufacturing will be preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Fabrication and welding processes
- Pressure vessel manufacturing
- Engineering drawings and BOM interpretation
- ASME fabrication practices
- Welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
- Hydrotesting and assembly
- Basic machining operations
- Material identification and traceability
- Manufacturing quality systems

Working Hours
- Day/Night Shift (timing as per company requirements).
- Six-day work week (Monday to Saturday).
- This is a full-time, factory-based role requiring regular supervision of shop floor operations.
