AGM / DGM Civil Engineering (Greenfield Projects & Industrial Construction)

Role Purpose

The AGM/DGM – Civil will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, design coordination, execution, and delivery of Greenfield industrial projects. The role requires strong expertise in industrial construction, PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures, plant layout development, vendor evaluation, civil infrastructure, and multidisciplinary project coordination including electrical, mechanical, utility, and pumping systems.

The incumbent will lead project execution from concept to commissioning, ensuring timely completion, quality compliance, cost control, safety adherence, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Greenfield Project Planning & Execution

- Lead and manage complete Greenfield industrial project development from conceptualization to commissioning.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure achievement of project milestones within approved timelines and budgets.

Industrial Construction Management

- Manage construction of:
- Manufacturing facilities and process buildings
- Warehouses and storage facilities
- Administrative and utility buildings
- Roads, drainage systems, and site infrastructure
- Water supply and firefighting systems
- RCC structures and structural steel works

- Ensure execution in line with approved specifications, drawings, engineering standards, and statutory requirements.

PEB Structure & Industrial Building Expertise

- Lead planning, design review, technical evaluation, and execution of PEB structures.
- Evaluate structural designs, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection methodologies.
- Review and approve PEB technical proposals and vendor submissions.
- Monitor fabrication, erection, and commissioning activities of industrial buildings.
- Ensure optimization of structural designs for cost, quality, and functionality.

Plant Layout & Engineering Coordination

- Review and finalize plant layouts ensuring operational efficiency and future expansion requirements.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and utility teams.




- Ensure integration of plant equipment with civil and structural requirements.
- Review engineering drawings, GAs, foundation drawings, and vendor layouts.

Technical Evaluation & Vendor Management

- Conduct technical evaluation of contractors, consultants, and PEB suppliers.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, BOQs, tenders, and contracts.
- Participate in vendor shortlisting, techno-commercial evaluation, and negotiations.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Electrical & Utility Infrastructure Coordination

- Coordinate civil requirements related to:
- Electrical cabling trenches
- Substation and control room construction
- Cable routing systems
- Earthing networks
- Utility installations

- Ensure seamless integration of civil and electrical infrastructure.

Pumping Systems & Utility Equipment

- Coordinate installation and commissioning of:
- Water pumping systems
- Fire water systems
- Utility pipelines
- Process utility infrastructure
- ETP/STP-related civil works

- Review equipment foundations and ensure compliance with vendor requirements.

Cost & Contract Management

- Prepare and manage CapEx budgets for civil and infrastructure works.
- Review contractor bills, quantity certifications, and project expenditures.
- Track project costs and implement cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved financial budgets.

Quality Assurance & Safety

- Establish and monitor quality assurance systems for construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with IS codes, engineering standards, and company specifications.
- Implement construction safety practices and EHS requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

- Liaise with government departments, consultants, and approval authorities.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, environmental requirements, and industrial project norms.
- Support statutory approvals related to construction and industrial infrastructure.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
- M.E./M.Tech in Structural/Civil Engineering (Preferred)
- PMP or Project Management Certification will be an added advantage

Experience





- 15–20+ years of experience in Industrial Construction & Greenfield Projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale manufacturing or industrial projects.
- Proven experience in execution of Greenfield plants from concept to commissioning.
- Experience in Chemical, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, FMCG, Manufacturing, Metals, or Process Industries preferred.

The candidate should be capable of independently driving projects from concept, design evaluation, vendor selection, construction, and commissioning to successful plant handover.
