Job openings for Microsoft Data Engineer in Chennai Mode of Work HYBDRID Location Chennai About the Role We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Data Engineer with the ability to independently design and implement the components of scalable data solutions while also collaborating within their team The successful candidate will have deep expertise in database engineering across SQL Server on-premises and Azure Data Services Databricks This role requires a demonstrated understanding of OLTP and dimensional data modelling large-scale data processing and performance tuning The ideal candidate is someone who has spent several years passionate about building core data engineering expertise has exhibited leadership in end-to-end data solution implementations and can clearly articulate the architecture technical decisions and challenges they solved Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable and efficient data solutions across both on-premises SQL Server and Azure Data Services Databricks Provide experience based technical leadership in migrating legacy on-premises data processes to Azure cloud technology stacks Ensure process performance data security and integrity across hybrid solutions built in SQL Server on-premises Azure Data Services Databricks Data Factory Azure SQL and Synapse Analytics Optimize large data loads complex SQL workloads and storage compute performance across environments Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory SSIS Synapse Pipelines and Databricks Collaborate closely with analytics and BI teams to deliver solutions aligned with governance and Azure best practices Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers in both on-premises and cloud data engineering Demonstrate ownership and initiative by engaging with leaders and colleagues to fully understand requirements contribute to solution designs participate in reviews and drive overall excellence Required Experience Skills Bachelor s degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a relatedfield or equivalent experience 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a Data Engineer or similar role withexpertise in both on-premises SQL Server and Azure cloud technologies Expert-level skills in SQL Server T-SQL indexing partitioning performance tuning query optimization Strong proficiency in Azure Data Services o Azure Databricks o Azure SQL Database o Azure Data Lake Storage o Azure Data Factory o Azure Synapse Analytics Hands-on experience building large-scale ETL ELT pipelines using ADF SSIS Synapse or Databricks Proven experience migrating on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure cloud environments Explicit understanding of dimensional modelling theory and practices Strong problem-solving attitude with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical scenarios Solid understanding of data governance security and compliance in cloud environments Ability to work in fast-paced collaborative environments with good communication skills Preferred Skills Experience with distributed compute paradigms Spark Databricks Exposure to workload management cost optimization across Azure services Experience guiding or mentoring peers Experience 5 - 10 Years Salary 15 Lac To 25 Lac P A Industry Other Qualification Key Skills Python SQL ETL Pipelines Data Modeling Data Warehousing PySpark Spark Databricks Airflow Azure Data Factory Azure Cloud Delta Lake Performance Tuning API Integration NLP
