Job Information Date Opened 01 07 2026Job Type Full timeWork Experience 4-5 yearsIndustry AerospaceCity HyderabadState Province TelanganaCountry IndiaZip Postal Code 500005 About Us Skyroot Aerospace is a National award-winning growth-stage start-up founded by former ISRO scientists Our mission is to open space for all by providing affordable reliable and responsive space launch solutions We are a close-knit team of Space professionals building leading space launch vehicles and solutions from India for the world PURPOSE OF ROLE The Aerospace Welding Engineer supports welding operations for aerospace components by developing welding procedures ensuring compliance with industry standards supporting production teams and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives The role involves hands-on work with welding processes commonly used in aerospace such as GTAW TIG resistance welding and laser welding while ensuring adherence to stringent quality and safety requirements RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the development qualification and documentation of Welding Procedure Specifications WPS PQRs and work instructions Provide day-to-day technical support to welders and manufacturing teams for process issues equipment optimization and defect reduction Participate in selecting appropriate welding processes filler materials tools and fixtures Ensure welding activities comply with AS9100 NADCAP AWS D17 1 and customer-specific standards Support root cause analysis and implement corrective preventive actions for weld-related nonconformances Work closely with Quality and NDT teams for inspection planning e g X-ray dye penetrant ultrasonic Assist in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing weld defects enhancing productivity and improving repeatability Support setup maintenance and calibration of welding equipment such as TIG welders weld monitors laser welding systems and resistance welding machines Contribute to fixture design reviews and tooling validation activities Maintain accurate welding process records qualification logs and production documentation Create reports on process performance welding trials and engineering changes SKILLS REQUIRED Technical Skills In order of Priority Basic understanding of welding processes GTAW TIG GMAW resistance welding Orbital or laser welding Knowledge of aerospace materials such as aluminium titanium nickel alloys stainless steel Familiarity with NADCAP welding requirements and AWS D17 1 is an advantage Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings GD T and weld symbols Solid analytical and problem-solving skills Exposure to NDT methods PT RT UT Hands-on shop experience supporting welders and manufacturing teams Experience with CAD weld parameter monitoring software or ERP systems Other Skills In order of Priority Strong written and verbal communication skills ability to write design reports test plans and deliver design presentations Passion for space exploration and firm belief idable access to space Self-driven engineer who thrives in ambiguity Passion Tenacity to tackle challenging issues unique to the Aerospace Industry Experience in start-up or agile development environment Ability to inspire comradery and mutual respect in a diverse team QUALIFICATION Essential Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical engineering Aerospace engineering or other technical 2-3 years of experience preferably from Aerospace and defence experience
