Role description Role Purpose Key Accountabilities Preferred Experience and Qualification Skills Position Overview The Contract Labour Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of contract workforce at the Silvassa manufacturing facility The role involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements effective contractor partner management workforce productivity and maintaining a harmonious labour environment Key Responsibilities Contract Labour Management Manage end-to-end lifecycle of contract workforce including onboarding deployment shift planning and exits Track headcount attendance productivity and cost across all contractors and categories Ensure proper deployment as per production plan and organizational needs Hiring of Diploma Engineer Trainees Statutory Compliance Ensure 100 compliance with applicable labour laws Contract Labour R A Act Factories Act etc Verify contractor documents including licenses labour registers ESI PF challans wage disbursement records Conduct periodic audits of contractors for compliance and documentation Contractor Vendor Management Regularly review contractor performance and resolve issues related to manpower supply absenteeism or conflict Conduct monthly meetings with contractor partners for performance grievance resolution and planning MIS and Reporting Maintain accurate records of contract labour deployment cost and compliance metrics Generate periodic dashboards and reports for internal and regulatory review Support HRBP and Finance with cost and manpower planning inputs Employee Engagement Grievance Handling Act as point of contact for contract workforce grievances and escalate unresolved cases Drive engagement and discipline among contract workforce through communication and awareness sessions Process Improvement Digitization Implement digital solutions biometric attendance automated billing for labour tracking Continuously improve contractor management practices to enhance transparency and efficiency Key Skills Competencies Robust knowledge of labour laws and factory compliance Hands-on experience in contract workforce management in a plant setup Data-driven with ability to use MS Excel HRIS ERP tools Good negotiation communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work with cross-functional teams under tight timelines Educational Qualifications Experience Bachelor s Degree in any discipline MBA PGD in HR or Industrial Relations preferred 8-12 years of experience in managing contract labour in a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment Experience in dealing with contract workforce unions labour authorities and government audits is a plus About Sterlite Technologies Limited About STL - STL is a leading global optical and digital solutions company providing advanced offerings to build 5G Rural FTTx Enterprise and Data Centre networks About STL Digital - STL Digital a wholly owned subsidiary of STL is a global IT services and consulting company dedicated to delivering exceptional digital transformation experiences for enterprises with a comprehensive portfolio of services including product engineering cloud and cyber security data and AI and enterprise SaaS
