Role Summary As a Principal Engineer - Roads Drainage you ll have experience in the Highways Sector to join our UK iCRC Roads team in Noida Bengaluru The role offers excellent diversified opportunities for a candidate seeking to progress their career and looking for experience training and support with their development and future career progression The successful candidate will have experience in leading the development and delivery of integral part of highways and highway drainage projects through various stages of the design process from feasibility to planning detailed design and onto construction Responsibilities You will be working and supporting a range of highways schemes associated with highway drainage elements Ensure the technical delivery and project delivery You will be responsible to lead highway drainage engineering designs modelling and deliverables independently by teams for various UK schemes using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other relevant standards The position will also involve internal client liaison assisting in the preparation of fee proposals recruitments and financial control of projects when acting as a package manager You will coordinate inputs and outputs with other disciplines to produce an integrated design You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to the budget programme and technical standards and meet QA CDM Sustainability and HSE requirements Preparation of reports and supporting drawings definition of work needed by field investigation teams and responding to customer needs to support maintaining good client relationships at all levels Provide guidance to and manage the work of Graduates Engineers Senior Engineers and Technicians working on the same projects You will have direct line management including mentoring and managing early career professionals ensuring technical excellence is in everything we deliver You will provide the required assistance to the discipline head to produce periodic reports such as project performance forecast utilization and workload Beyond qualifications and experience the key candidate attributes we look for are the ability to solve problems build constructive relationships and a desire to continually improve We will provide you with the right setting and opportunities to develop as a Principal engineer and support your personal development Your work may require travel within the UK when needed Key Competencies Skills Mandatory Skills You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive technical knowledge and experience of at least 10 years in UK highway drainage design Suds application Modelling in MicroDrainage or CausewayFlow software or equivalent Report preparations General arrangement drawings and specifications- 500 series Technical competency in Highway drainage Storm water drainage as per UK standards Preparation of Highway drainage methodologies and design basis statements Mentoring and technical support to CAD and engineers to develop general arrangement drawings standard drawings You will be able to use the relevant design software such as Civil 3D Micro Drainage CausewayFlow NavisWorks AutoCAD and ProjectWise Lead and attend design review meetings and progress meetings with Clients Able to liaise as necessary with the UK project team to deliver the schemes projects You will be quick to pick up new ideas and skills and be able to think laterally to generate new solutions to problems Good written and verbal communication skillsPreparation of Development Drainage Strategies Proven track record of dealing with Clients and forging effective relationships in a professional and customer-focused manor Desired Skills Project Management and financial track with projects Project estimations and bid support strategies for resource management Highway drainage solutions application of SUDS MicroDrainage CausewayFlow software usage Familiarisation with DMRB and CIRIA standards Detailing support on general arrangement drawings and CAD supervision Knowledge on UK legislation and various sections of technical approvals CDM regulations and its application Quick in checking process and validate the designs models ensure the quality UK client interactions and plan through project delivery Can demonstrate clear and successful liaison and co-ordination on multi-discipline projects and working knowledge of other disciplines technical capabilities and requirements Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status of a recognised professional institution or at the verge of acquiring the same Qualifications and Experience B Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent with valuable length of relevant experience M Tech in Hydrualics Water Resources Engineering or equivalent will be given preference Minimum of 12 years of experience in Highway drainage and Storm water draianage Department 70535 -
