Job Title Fashion Merchant - Women s Ethnic Wear Department Merchandising Design Experience 6-8 Years Location Sachin GIDC Surat Industry Garment Manufacturing - Women s Ethnic Wear Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and creative Fashion Merchant with strong knowledge of Fashion Designing and Garment Merchandising in Women s Ethnic Wear manufacturing The candidate will be responsible for managing the complete product lifecycle from design development buyer coordination sampling production follow-up and timely delivery while maintaining quality and cost targets Key Responsibilities Design Product Development Develop new styles and collections for women s ethnic wear Kurtis Suits Lehengas Sarees Co-ord sets etc Create design concepts based on market trends buyer requirements and seasonal collections Prepare tech packs including fabric details measurements embroidery trims and color combinations Coordinate with the design team sampling team and production team for sample development and approvals Merchandising Buyer Coordination Handle buyer communication for order confirmation design approvals pricing and delivery schedules Understand buyer specifications and ensure correct execution of designs and quality standards Negotiate costings and ensure target margins are achieved Manage order sheets purchase orders and style tracking reports Sampling Production Follow-up Monitor sample development proto fit size set and pre-production samples Coordinate with sourcing cutting stitching embroidery washing and finishing departments Ensure production is as per approved sample quality standards and timelines Identify and resolve production or quality-related issues proactively Quality Compliance Ensure product quality as per buyer standards and company guidelines Work closely with QC team for inline and final inspections Maintain proper documentation of approvals revisions and test reports Market Trend Analysis Research current fashion trends fabrics embroidery colors and silhouettes in women s ethnic wear Suggest new concepts and collections based on market demand and competitor analysis Team Coordination Coordinate with fabric sourcing accessories embroidery and printing vendors Guide junior merchandisers and sampling coordinators Act as a bridge between design production and sales teams Required Skills Competencies Strong knowledge of Fashion Designing Garment Merchandising In-depth understanding of Women s Ethnic Wear manufacturing Excellent knowledge of fabrics trims embroidery techniques and surface ornamentation Good costing and negotiation skills Strong communication and buyer handling skills Ability to manage multiple styles and orders simultaneously Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Time management and delivery commitment Software Tools Proficiency in MS Excel Word and PowerPoint Knowledge of CAD CorelDraw Adobe Illustrator preferred ERP Merchandising software knowledge is an advantage Educational Qualification Bachelor s Degree Diploma in Fashion Designing Textile Designing Garment Merchandising NIFT NID reputed fashion institute preferred Experience Requirement Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in women s ethnic wear manufacturing Experience in handling domestic or export buyers as per company requirement Solid exposure to sampling production and buyer coordination Key Performance Indicators KPIs On-time sample approvals and order deliveries Quality consistency and buyer satisfaction Cost control and margin achievement New design development and successful collections Salary Benefits Salary As per industry standards and experience Job Type Full-time Pay 45 000 00 - 100 000 00 per month Work Location In person
