Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Finance Head - Airlines to lead and manage the complete finance function for airline operations. This role will oversee receivables, payables, compliance, reporting, and financial controls while working closely with business, operations, and leadership teams to ensure solid cash-flow management and scalable finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

- Lead overall finance operations for airline business including AR, AP, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial strategy aligned with business growth.
- Present periodic financial MIS, performance insights, and variance analysis to management.

Receivables & Revenue Control

Oversee airline receivables, including: Daily receivables reconciliation

PG / payment gateway reconciliation

Outstanding tracking and ageing analysis

Ensure accurate daily posting of receipts and revenue entries in ERP.

Review and approve daily outstanding receivable reports and escalation mechanisms.

Payables & Vendor Management

Supervise airline and vendor payables including:



Vendor payment planning and execution

Reconciliation of AP with AR (set-offs where applicable)

Daily payable posting in ERP

Optimize payment cycles to balance vendor relationships and cash-flow.

Compliance, Audit & Controls

- Ensure timely GST compliance, filings, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Oversee internal audits, statutory audits, and ensure closure of audit observations.
- Strengthen internal financial controls, SOPs, and approval frameworks.

Team & Process Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage finance team members across receivables, payables, and reporting.
- Drive automation, ERP optimization, and process improvements for scalability.
- Coordinate with product, tech, and operations teams for system-driven finance workflows.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of airline finance, settlements, and B2B travel accounting.
- Excellent analytical, MIS, and financial modeling skills.
- Hands-on ERP experience with strong process orientation.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce (CA / MBA preferred).
- 8-12+ years experience in finance roles, preferably in B2B travel, airlines, OTA, or travel tech.
- Strong exposure to receivables, payables, GST, audits, and ERP-driven finance environments.
