Job Summary

The Senior Research associate in research and development will be responsible for carrying out lab experimentation following safety guidelines for process improvement, cost reduction, plant support and other continuous improvement activities .

Job Responsibilities

1. Research and Optimization:
- Strong understanding of multi-step organic synthesis with hands-on exposure to aromatic, aliphatic, and heterocyclic chemistry
- Basic capability in literature search and route scouting to support process development activities.
- Experience in reaction execution at gram scale with understanding of scale-up considerations.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, GC-MS) along with data interpretation.
- Competency in setting up reactions in both laboratory and autoclave conditions, with understanding of catalyst and solvent selection.
- Practical experience in crystallization and trituration techniques. Purification of compounds using distillation techniques, including simple, fractional and vacuum distillation, with understanding of boiling point control and separation efficiency.

1. Cost Reduction and Process Improvement of Existing Products:
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process optimizations for existing products.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.




- Continuous improvement on the key projects to keep them cost competitive
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product quality.

1. Data Entry and Document Preparation:
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all R and D activities in the Electronic Lab Notebook.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including experimental protocols, reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management and documentation.

The Person

Qualifications:

- Master's in Organic Chemistry
- 2-5 years in R and D within the fine chemicals industry.
- Proficient in data management and lab safety.

Skills:

- Project management and organizational skills.
- Design of Experiments for process optimization
