Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in outpatient clinics, wards, and emergency settings
• Admit, monitor, and discharge patients with appropriate documentation
• Perform daily ward rounds and ensure continuity of patient care
• Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory tests and imaging studies
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including complication management
Surgical & Procedural Responsibilities
- Assist or perform orthopedic surgical procedures under supervision, including:
- Fracture fixation (ORIF, external fixation)
- Arthroscopic procedures
- Soft tissue and minor orthopedic surgeries
- Perform orthopedic procedures such as:
- Closed fracture reduction
- Casting, splinting, and traction
- Joint aspirations and injections
- Wound debridement and suturing
- Ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols and infection control guidelines
• Participate in emergency and trauma services as per duty roster
• Provide prompt assessment and stabilization of orthopedic emergencies
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, radiology, and other specialties
- Teach and supervise junior residents, interns, and medical students
- Participate in academic activities such as:
- Journal clubs
- Case presentations
- Mortality and morbidity meetings
- Assist in conducting seminars, workshops, and clinical demonstrations
