A VAT specialist typically shall be a detail-oriented VAT professional who is required to support European VAT (GERMANY, NETHERLANDS etc) compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions. The role will be responsible for managing indirect tax compliance, ensuring accurate VAT reporting, supporting process improvements, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
o Experienced in handling European VAT.
o Good working knowledge of SAP.
Experience and knowledge of VAT conditions records in SAP.
o Must have a valuable understanding of: - VAT returns, Intra-Community supplies and acquisitions Reverse Charge Mechanism Import and Export VAT VAT recovery principles EC Sales List (ESL) and Intrastat reporting
o Good English communication skills, both oral and written.
o Good stakeholder management skills.
o Good knowledge of MS Excel.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o High attention to detail and accuracy.
o Hands-on and proactive approach.
o Good time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
o Process improvement and automation mindset.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global environment.
Experience o At least 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in handling European VAT compliances. o Experience in UK VAT compliance will be an added advantage.
