Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced AWS Developer with deep expertise in building cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices on Amazon Web Services, with particularly strong hands-on experience in serverless development using AWS Lambda. The ideal candidate is a hands-on application developer who writes clean, well-tested code, designs robust APIs, and builds scalable, event-driven services. You will own features end to end, provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices on AWS.
- Build serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
- Develop event-driven services integrating with SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code in Python, Node.js, or Java, following engineering best practices.
- Design data models and integrate applications with relational and NoSQL databases such as RDS and DynamoDB.
- Containerise and deploy microservices using Docker and ECS/EKS where appropriate.
- Implement application-level security, including authentication and authorisation (Cognito, OAuth2/JWT, IAM) and secure secrets handling.
- Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews,



and uphold engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into application features, integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance, scalability, and cost; mentor junior developers.

Required Skill & Qualification:

- 7+ years of software application development experience, including 5+ years building applications on AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js, or Java (TypeScript is a plus).
- Deep hands-on expertise in serverless application development with AWS Lambda.
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices using API Gateway.
- Robust experience with AWS data services such as DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.
- Experience building event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
- Experience with containers (Docker, ECS/EKS) and API security (Cognito, OAuth2/JWT, IAM).
- Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools such as AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Strong testing, debugging, and performance-optimization skills, with experience in unit and integration testing frameworks.
- AWS certification (Developer Associate or equivalent) is preferred; excellent communication and mentoring skills.
