Role Description

This role is responsible for building and applying regulatory expertise to resolve complex regulatory challenges and support key initiatives for the Eastman product portfolio. The primary focus is on EU REACH and CLP regulations, with additional exposure to REACH-like frameworks in regions such as Turkey, China, Korea, and other jurisdictions. The role works closely with the Regulatory Affairs Manager EMEA and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that EMN productsdeveloped, manufactured, and marketed across diverse applicationsmeet or exceed regulatory compliance requirements, enabling safe use throughout the value chain. Active participation in international regulatory discussions is a critical component of this role. Strong communication skills are essential to translate regulatory interpretations and solutions clearly to internal stakeholders and customers. The position also supports product stewardship and regulatory compliance communications with customers and external authorities. Strict confidentiality must be always maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update hazard classifications, safety assessments, and regulatory dossiers for EMN substances and mixtures.

• Prepare, update, and submit dossiers in IUCLID to ECHA, EU Member State authorities, Poison Centres (PCN), and SCIP, in compliance with CLP and related legislation.

• Support execution of EU regulatory impact assessments across all business units.

• Manage and coordinate incoming messages, tasks, and actions for Eastman Legal Entities within REACH-IT.

• Review and assess new or changed registration tonnages for SVT tracking and communicate findings to the REACH team.





• Support the implementation of risk management measures based on chemical risk assessments for EMN registrations.

• Contribute to broader Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs activities, as needed.

• Develop and improve SOPs, tools, and process initiatives to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance across the team.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant regulatory or product stewardship experience

• Working knowledge of EU REACH and CLP regulations, including interpretation and application of regulatory requirements.

• Hands-on or working-level experience with regulatory systems and datasets (e.g., IUCLID, CLP notifications, REACH submissions).

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with demonstrated ability in regulatory or technical writing.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.

• High degree of professional integrity and confidentiality.

• Self-motivated, proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background or basic knowledge in toxicology, crop protection, or animal nutrition.

• Experience working with SAP, IUCLID, and/or CHESAR.

• Familiarity with REACH-like regulations outside the EU (e.g., Turkey KKDIK, China MEE Order 12, Korea K-REACH).

• Experience participating in international regulatory forums or working groups.

• Demonstrated ability to build effective internal networks, particularly in remote or global team environments.

• Solid interpersonal skills and experience working in diverse, multicultural teams.

• Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn new regulatory topics and develop new skill sets.
