Job Description
Location: Indiranagar, Bengaluru.
Job Type: Full-time.
Schedule: Day Shift / Morning Shift.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Consultant Ayurvedic Physician to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical expertise in Ayurveda, especially Panchakarma, and should be capable of independently managing both outpatient and inpatient care. In addition to patient care, the candidate will also be responsible for guiding therapists, supporting therapist training, and overseeing pharmacy-related coordination to ensure quality treatment delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult, assess, diagnose, and treat patients based on Ayurvedic principles and clinical evaluation.
- Independently handle the Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD) cases.
- Prepare individualised Ayurvedic treatment plans, including medicines, therapies, diet, and lifestyle guidance.
- Possess sound practical and theoretical knowledge of Panchakarma therapies, indications, contraindications, and protocols.
- Guide, monitor, and review Panchakarma procedures to ensure proper treatment execution and patient safety.
- Supervise, manage, and coordinate with therapists for the smooth execution of daily therapies and patient care.
- Provide training and guidance to therapists on treatment procedures, discipline, hygiene, patient handling, and therapy standards.
- Monitor therapist performance and support quality improvement in therapy delivery.
- Oversee pharmacy-related coordination, including proper prescription handling, medicine usage guidance, stock awareness, and coordination with the pharmacy team for timely dispensing.
- Ensure prescribed medicines and therapies are aligned with diagnosis and treatment protocols.
- Maintain clear and accurate patient records, prescriptions, case sheets, progress notes, and follow-up details.
- Counsel patients regarding treatment plans, diet, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare.
- Handle patients and bystanders politely, empathetically, and professionally.
- Coordinate effectively with the front office, therapists, pharmacy, and management for seamless patient service.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, hygiene standards, documentation systems, and quality requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Robust knowledge of Panchakarma and Ayurvedic clinical practice.
- Ability to independently manage OPD and IPD patients.
- Good therapist supervision and training capability.
- Knowledge of pharmacy coordination and medicine management in an Ayurvedic setup.
- Excellent patient-handling and counseling skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with responsibility and accountability.
- Language proficiency in Kannada, English, and Hindi.
Eligibility Criteria
Preferred Qualification:
BAMS / Undergraduate in Ayurveda with min 3 years of experience or more, or
Postgraduate (Freshers can also apply) in:
1. Panchakarma
2. Kayachikitsa
3. Shalyatantra
Experience
Physician experience: 1 year preferred
Total work experience: min 3 years preferred
Education
Bachelor's Degree (BAMS)
Postgraduate (MD preferred) qualification in a relevant Ayurvedic specialisation.
Location Requirement
Candidate should be able to reliably commute to Indiranagar, Bengaluru, 560008, Karnataka, or be willing to relocate before joining.
