Job Summary

The Senior Manager Non-Medical Purchase will be responsible for leading the procurement function for all non-medical categories during hospital setup and operations. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, cost optimization, inventory planning, and ensuring timely availability of all non-medical materials, equipment, and services required for hospital commissioning and smooth functioning.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and service providers.
- Conduct RFQs/RFPs, comparative analyses, and commercial evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties, service agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Develop long-term supplier partnerships to ensure quality, continuity, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs and SLAs.

Cost Optimization & Budget Control

- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets.
- Track procurement spend and generate cost-saving reports.
- Identify opportunities for standardization and value engineering.

Contract & Compliance Management

- Manage procurement contracts, AMCs, CMCs, warranties, and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain complete procurement documentation and records.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.





Inventory & Material Management

- Establish inventory norms and reorder levels for non-medical consumables.
- Coordinate with stores for material receipt, verification, and stock management.
- Ensure optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory.

Stakeholder Coordination

- Collaborate with department heads to forecast procurement requirements.
- Liaise with finance and accounts teams for budget approvals and payment processing.
- Coordinate with logistics and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

MIS & Reporting

- Prepare procurement dashboards and management reports.
- Track procurement KPIs, vendor performance, purchase cycle times, and cost savings.
- Present procurement status and project updates to leadership.

Asset Disposal & Scrap Management

- Manage disposal of obsolete assets and scrap through approved processes.
- Ensure maximum value realization from scrap sales and asset disposal activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement preferred.

Experience





- 10+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within hospitals, healthcare.
- Experience in hospital setup, commissioning, or expansion projects is mandatory.

Technical Skills

- Solid knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Experience in procurement of non-medical equipment, facility management services, and capital assets.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of inventory management, budgeting, and procurement analytics.
- Familiarity with AMCs, CMCs, warranties, and service contracts.
