Job Summary

The Coffee Estate Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the coffee estate, ensuring optimum productivity, quality, sustainability, and profitability. The role involves overseeing cultivation activities, workforce management, harvesting operations, estate maintenance, budgeting, and compliance with statutory and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Estate Operations

- Plan, organize, and supervise all coffee cultivation activities.
- Monitor plantation health, growth, and productivity.
- Implement best agricultural practices for coffee production.
- Oversee shade management, pruning, irrigation, and soil conservation measures.
- Ensure timely application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other inputs.

Harvesting and Processing

- Plan and supervise harvesting operations to ensure quality yield.
- Monitor post-harvest processing activities, including pulping, drying, grading, and storage.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the production cycle.

Workforce Management

- Recruit, supervise, and manage permanent and seasonal workers.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor workforce productivity.
- Ensure worker welfare, safety, and compliance with labor regulations.
- Conduct training programs on agricultural practices and safety procedures.

Financial Management

- Prepare annual budgets and operational plans.
- Monitor expenses and optimize resource utilization.
- Maintain records of production,



labor, inputs, and operational costs.
- Prepare periodic reports on estate performance and profitability.

Estate Maintenance

- Ensure proper maintenance of estate roads, buildings, machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
- Monitor irrigation systems, drainage, and water resources.
- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance activities.

Compliance and Sustainability

- Ensure compliance with environmental, labor, and agricultural regulations.
- Promote sustainable farming practices and conservation initiatives.
- Maintain required licenses, permits, and statutory records.

Pest and Disease Management

- Monitor coffee plants for pests and diseases.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective measures.
- Work with agricultural experts and consultants when required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Experience in coffee plantation management is preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee cultivation, harvesting, and processing techniques.
- Familiarity with estate accounting and inventory management.

Experience

- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in plantation or estate management, preferably in coffee estates.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications
