Role & responsibilities

- Responsible for managing day to day City Bus Operations with the respective State Transport Authorities.
- Develop, schedule, and monitor all district routes which support district programs and needs including extended day and extended year programs for all students.
- Serve as the dispatcher for bus fleet operations.
- Manage all aspects of the Districts extracurricular program and activities as related to transportation support and services.
- Review and update route folders.
- Maintain and update all route information and changes in a timely manner using software applications provided by the District.
- Substitute on bus routes as needed or required.
- Assist substitute drivers with route information.
- Monitor and assist drivers and aides regarding operational procedures.
- Communicate route related information to members of the community and all district employees in a timely and productive manner.




- Perform checks and observations as needed.
- Attendance at work is an essential function.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee

Preferred candidate profile

- Knowledge of Lamar CISD Pupil Transportation system
- Ability to read and understand instructions for transportation and safety procedures
- Demonstrate proficiency in typing, data entry, word processing, Microsoft Suite applications and all computer software
- Available to support Bus Fleet Operations
- Ability to schedule a group of driver's
- Great organizational skills
- Incredible time management skills
- Ability to analyse large sets of data and draw conclusions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to hire and train new employees
- Ability to give constructive criticism
- Great knowledge of vehicles
