- The Operations Head will be responsible for end-to-end project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, procurement coordination, cost control, quality, safety, client relationship management, and operational excellence.
- The role requires ensuring that every project is delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual commitments and quality standards.
- The incumbent will provide leadership to Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Site Engineers, QA/QC, Safety teams, and subcontractors while ensuring effective coordination with Procurement, Accounts, Contracts, and Management.
- This position is critical to driving operational efficiency, mitigating project risks, maintaining client satisfaction, and improving overall project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management Lead and oversee the execution of all ongoing industrial construction projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per quality standards.
- Monitor project performance against approved schedules and milestones.
- Identify execution bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for project execution.
- Conduct weekly and monthly operational review meetings with project teams.
- Ensure effective coordination between all departments involved in project execution.
- Project Planning Execution Develop comprehensive project execution strategies.
- Review and approve project schedules prepared by Project Managers.
- Monitor critical activities and project milestones.
- Ensure availability of manpower, machinery, materials, and subcontractors as per project schedules.
- Prepare recovery plans for delayed projects.
- Optimize construction methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Multi-Site Coordination Oversee multiple project sites simultaneously.
- Conduct regular site visits and operational audits.
- Standardize execution practices across all project locations.
- Ensure effective communication between site teams and the head office.
- Resolve cross-functional issues affecting project delivery.
- Leadership Team Management Lead and mentor Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Site Engineers, QA/QC, Safety teams, and site administration staff.
- Define transparent performance objectives and responsibilities.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Develop leadership capabilities within the operations team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Project Planning, Risk Management Mitigation Identify operational and project risks at an early stage.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Monitor critical path activities and recommend corrective measures.
- Resolve execution challenges related to labour, materials, equipment, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely decision-making to prevent disruptions in project execution.
- Procurement Resource Coordination Coordinate with the Procurement Department to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Review procurement schedules against project timelines.
- Ensure availability of long-lead and critical materials before execution.
- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, and equipment across projects.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
- Cost Control Financial Management Monitor project budgets and operational expenditures.
- Review Budget vs.
- Actual Cost reports regularly.
- Control material wastage and improve resource utilization.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with Accounts and Finance for project cash flow planning and payment scheduling.
- Review project profitability and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Client Relationship Management Project Meetings Act as the primary operational point of contact for clients during project execution.
- Lead project kick-off meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Attend weekly, fortnightly, and monthly client review meetings.
- Conduct coordination meetings with clients, consultants, architects, PMC representatives, and statutory authorities whenever required.
- Present project progress, milestone achievements, recovery plans, and execution strategies to clients.
- Address client concerns, technical queries, and execution-related issues promptly.
- Ensure timely closure of all client observations and action points.
- Prepare and review Minutes of Meeting (MoM) and ensure implementation of agreed action items.
- Coordinate approvals for drawings, materials, inspections, and execution methodologies.
- Manage variation orders, additional scope, and change requests in coordination with Contracts and Commercial teams.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communication and timely project delivery.
- Drive client satisfaction by ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and professional project management.
- Quality Safety Management Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
- Monitor implementation of QA/QC procedures across all sites.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety requirements.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
- Conduct periodic quality and safety audits.
- Reporting MIS Prepare and present periodic management reports covering: Project Progress Reports Project Health Reports Budget vs.
- Actual Cost Analysis Procurement Status Material Consumption Reports Vendor Performance Reports Cash Flow Forecasts Resource Utilization Reports Delay
- Analysis Risk Register Recovery Plans KPI Performance Dashboard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Operations Head will be evaluated based on: On-Time Project Completion Project Profitability Budget Adherence Budget vs.
- Actual Cost Variance Client Satisfaction Score Number of Client Escalations

Qualifications
- Bachelor;;s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- Master;;s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
- Experience 12-18 years of experience in industrial construction or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior operations or project management leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Industry Experience
