Role Description

The Rapid Prototyping Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bilaspur, responsible for converting CAD designs into physical prototypes to support product development across body armor, ballistic protection systems, and armored vehicle solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining CAD models, 3D printing functional and visual prototypes, and building scaled or full-size physical models — including vehicle/armored car mockups — for design validation, fit checks, and stakeholder review. The role involves operating machining and fabrication equipment, working closely with R&D; and mechanical engineering teams to validate designs, conducting tests on prototypes, documenting results, and iterating designs based on performance data.



The engineer will also ensure manufacturability and quality standards are met while supporting the transition from prototype to production-ready design.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar) for 3D modeling, design optimization, and preparing drawings for manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS) — including slicer software, print calibration, and material selection
- Strong prototyping and hands-on fabrication skills, with the ability to convert design ideas into reliable physical prototypes, including scaled or full-size vehicle/armored car mockups
- Practical machining skills — CNC machines, mills, lathes, and other workshop equipment for precision component fabrication
- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, including materials, structural analysis, and manufacturing processes
- Experience in R&D;, including experimental design, testing, and iterative improvement of mechanical and protective systems
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering discipline; advanced qualifications are an advantage
- Experience in defense, automotive, aerospace, or related high-precision manufacturing sectors is a strong plus
- Ability to work on-site in Bilaspur, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and follow safety and quality standards
