Tasks:
- Lead, manage, and execute functional safety activities for E/E systems under your responsibility in accordance with ISO?26262 and BMW internal functional safety processes.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor functional safety activities across system, hardware, and software domains in close collaboration with the respective function owners.
- Ensure creation, consistency and maintenance of functional safety work products (e.g. safety plans, functional/technical safety concepts, safety analyses, verification and validation plan/report, safety case)
- Conduct and support safety reviews, audits and assessments in accordance with internal and external requirements.
- Assess risks arising from deviations, evaluate their impact on functional safety, and derive appropriate mitigation measures.
- Provide functional safety release recommendations at agreed project milestones
- Act as the central functional safety interface for Tier?1 suppliers as well as relevant internal stakeholders.
Skills:
- A completed degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, safety engineering, or a comparable field of study, or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience and sound knowledge of the ISO?26262 functional safety standard and its application in complex automotive E/E systems.
- Practical experience in automotive electronics and/or software development is desirable.
- System-level understanding of the vehicle, including knowledge of vehicle architecture and functional interdependencies, is an advantage.
- Solid analytical skills, a structured and quality?oriented working style, and the ability to develop robust and technically sound solutions are required
- Business?fluent proficiency in English is required along with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams; German language skills are an added plus but not necessary.
