Job Description: Job Description: Mechanical Fitter (Continuous Lines) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment on high-speed, continuous process lines (such as Color Coating Lines or Galvanizing Lines). Your primary focus will be ensuring maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards. [1, 2] Key Responsibilities Routine & Preventive Maintenance

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on all continuous line mechanical equipment.

- Align, fit, and assemble structural components and mechanical sub-assemblies.

- Inspect, repair, and replace worn parts, bearings, seals, gears, and couplings.

- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems essential for continuous operations.

Breakdown & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose mechanical faults quickly during live production to minimize downtime.

- Repair high-precision equipment including accumulators, tension levelers, uncoilers, and recoilers.

- Troubleshoot steering guides, looping towers, bridal rolls, and chemical/zinc bath equipment.

- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring mechanical failures.

Installation & Precision Alignment
- Install new machinery and modify existing continuous line setups.





- Perform precise laser or dial-indicator alignment on heavy rotating machinery.

- Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.

- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges) to verify tolerances.

Safety & Quality Assurance
- Follow strict Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures before servicing equipment.

- Maintain a clean, organized work setting following 5S principles.

- Ensure all repairs meet rigorous quality standards to prevent strip breaks or surface defects on the product.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: ITI Certification / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter trade.

- Experience: 3 to 7 years of hands-on maintenance experience specifically in Continuous Galvanizing Lines (CGL), Continuous Color Coating Lines (CCL), or continuous cold rolling mills.

- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in gas cutting, arc welding, and basic rigging/lifting operations.
- Deep understanding of high-pressure hydraulic valves, pumps, and cylinders.
- Experience with roll shop operations and roll changing procedures.

- Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure during breakdowns, strong teamwork skills, and readiness to work in rotating shifts.
