WSP has a new opportunity for an Electrical Designer to join GCC Canada’s Energy, Resource & Industry (ERI) mine infrastructure team on a full-time basis at our Noida office
Responsibilities
An overview of your role will include:
- Assist engineers/designers with drafting and development of engineering work packages
- Design and draft single lines; hazardous area classification; electrical layouts c/w cable tray runs, grounding, cable runs, lighting; wiring schematics; cable/conduit schedules; lighting panel schedules; junction box layouts; control panel layouts; I/O loop drawings; heat trace design; electrical installation details; etc.
- Managing and organizing drawings including drawing number request, receiving, storing, printing, issuing, etc.
- Create detail, subassembly and final assembly drawings of various products from sketches, job sheets, or markups of similar designs as required
- Perform required drafting changes or create new drawings as required
- Maintain and update CAD files
- Be responsible for electrical design work related to quantity estimation effort on project or program including direct quantity (MTO) take-off from a 3D model, 2D drawings, sketches and historical data.
- Build tools and APIs for Autodesk software to improve delivery times and increase efficiency
- Build and maintain libraries of symbols and families for AutoCAD and REVIT
- Liaising and coordinating closely with internal team members and clients, and working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Fundamental knowledge and understanding of electrical codes and North American industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, and NEC
Qualifications
You will have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering (or related discipline)
- CAD Certificate from a recognized institution preferred
- Around 10 years of AutoCAD drafter experience in electrical and control system
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD electrical, and Autodesk Plant 3D
- Proficiency in 3D modeling using REVIT and Autodesk is a requirement
- Experience in Autodesk Navisworks
- Experience with mining, oil and gas, water treatment and EPC projects.
- Working hours will require up to 4 hours of overlap with North American time zone, until 12:30 a.m. IST.
