Job Description: A Manager of Safety & Security in a chains manufacturing plant ensures a hazard-free, compliant workplace and protects company assets. They oversee both Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and physical security, managing accident prevention, OSHA compliance, and security personnel to maintain smooth operations. - Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety plans tailored to heavy industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, or local equivalents) and hazard communication.
- Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and oversee the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. [1, 2]

Industrial Security & Asset Protection

- Protect personnel, property, and supply chain assets through CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and monitoring of high-risk or inventory zones.
- Supervise, train, and schedule the in-house or outsourced security personnel.
- Perform regular background checks and credential verifications for employees and contractors. [1, 2]

Risk Mitigation, Audits & Training

- Conduct frequent Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), risk assessments, and safety audits on manufacturing equipment.
- Organize and conduct safety inductions, emergency drills (fire, evacuation),



and specialized training sessions for staff.
- Conduct daily/weekly site inspections and toolbox talks to maintain a proactive safety culture. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Incident Investigation & Reporting

- Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, or security breaches.
- Develop root-cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to avoid recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all occupational safety data, incidents, and insurance claims. [1, 2]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Safety, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of experience in industrial safety and security, ideally within heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding, industrial fire safety, and hazard identification.
- Certifications: Certifications like CHST (Certified in Healthcare Safety/Construction Health & Safety) or NEBOSH are highly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Crisis management, solid conflict resolution, team leadership, and effective communication skills. [1, 2, 3, 4]
