WSP’S FUTURE OF MOBILITY TEAM

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive individual to join the WSP Future of Mobility team and support our public and private sector clients. Within Future of Mobility we work across a range of areas:

- Zero emission mobility, helping clients switch to electric and alternative fuelled vehicles, and more broadly supporting sustainability goals and the transition to a decarbonised transport system.
- New modes and services, supporting clients to harness new technologies and business models in transport – from e-scooters and demand responsive transport, to cargo bikes and Mobility as a Service.
- Accessibility and inclusion, working to make transport more accessible for all by taking a human centred approach.
- Policy and futures, using a range of techniques to horizon scan and built future mobility into new policies and strategies.

As a member of our team, you’ll have a chance to develop across a range of subjects and skill areas. Our projects cover problem identification, feasibility studies, policies and strategy, business case development, commercial and operating model analysis, research, and operational delivery support.

ASSISTANT CONSULTANT ROLE

Due to our expanding public and private sector workload, we are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive Assistant Consultant to join the WSP Future of Mobility team, which is part of our Transport Planning business. You will work alongside a virtual team of individuals within India and the UK.

As an Assistant Consultant you can expect to be active on several projects at any given time. Your work may cover a variety of areas of expertise. You will report to a senior member of our team with expected day-to-day tasks that include the following:

The typical responsibilities include the following:





- Providing day-to-day support in the delivery of a range of projects, which may be across one, or more of the following areas:

- Zero emission mobility, helping clients switch to electric, hydrogen and alternative fuelled vehicles.

- Recent modes and services, supporting clients to harness new technologies, data and business models – from e scooters and demand responsive transport, to cargo bikes and Mobility as a Service.

- Accessibility and inclusion, working to make services and systems more accessible for all by taking a human centred approach.

- Policy and futures, using a range of analytical and futures techniques to horizon scan and embed future mobility into new policies and strategies.

- Rural mobility, applying new approaches to deliver better outcomes for countryside and coastal residents and visitors

- Supporting a broad range of projects, including budgeting, programming, analysis and technical excellence.

- Supporting teams in the preparation of bids, fee proposals and project programmes.

- Taking on official Bid Manager and Deputy Project Manager roles on projects, where feasible.

- Making an active contribution to the team through sharing knowledge, taking part in discussions and contributing to team events.

- Working as part of a team, supporting the growth of the Future Mobility offer in your office and with the UK Team.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU

We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate you are:

- Enthusiastic and curious about shaping better systems, services and outcomes, including (but not limited to) mobility
- Analytically minded, with experience using quantitative or structured problem solving approaches to understand complex, real world problems
- Comfortable applying critical thinking to unfamiliar subject areas and developing evidence based insights
- Interested in how technology, policy, economics, geography and human behaviour interact to shape outcomes
- Comfortable developing bespoke approaches to support individual projects or solve specific challenges
- Able to work across a range of subject areas concurrently and quickly context switch
- Strong in report writing and communication, able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling outputs
- Responsive and agile — asking the right questions, adapting to changing priorities and raising risks early
- Depending on your experience, confident in supporting or managing projects directly, including client facing work
- Willing to work towards professional accreditation, where relevant

Qualifications

BGV:

- Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
