Position: Designer Sales Associate (Pre-Sale) Department: Pre-Sale / Design
Reports To: Key Account Manager (KAM)
Works Closely With: Lead Qualifier, KAM, Head of Operations, Project & Production Designers, Creative Lead
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
The Designer Sales Associate owns the pre-sale journey: taking over qualified leads, understanding the client's requirement, sharing demos and design direction, coordinating measurement, preparing quotations, and converting the client to advance payment before a clean handover to the KAM and Creative Lead. This is a design-literate sales role — the person must combine a robust design sense with the ability to guide, upsell, and close. They should understand home decor and wallpapers, read a space quickly, and share the right demos and catalogue directions that move a lead toward conversion without over-executing project-level work at the pre-sale stage.
Objective
Convert qualified leads into paid projects by guiding clients with the right design direction, accurate scope and measurement clarity, and clear quotations — then hand over cleanly so execution can proceed without repeated questions.
Tools & Skills (Mandatory)
Adobe Photoshop — strong hands-on ability to prepare demos, previews, proposals, and client-facing visuals.
Proposals & Demos — able to build and present compelling demo directions, proposals, and quotation decks that help close.
Home Decor & Wallpapers — practical experience with wallpaper, wall/space decor products, materials, and finishes.
Strong design sense — more design ideas than a standard sales role; can suggest themes, colours, and material selection confidently.
Visual Arts — a solid visual arts background underpinning strong design and aesthetic judgment.
Comfortable with ERP, WhatsApp/DoubleTick, Google Meet, and structured written communication.
Design Experience & Portfolio
The ideal candidate has hands-on design production experience across digital and print, including:
Conceptualising, defining, and executing environmental graphics and art installations.
Creating high-quality design assets in both digital and print mediums.
Producing a wide range of materials — wallpaper, blinds, metal decor, ad creatives, emailers, retail banners, marketing collaterals, GIFs, and more.
Ensuring brand consistency across every space and asset.
A visual arts foundation — strong grounding in composition, colour, and aesthetics applied across mediums.
Key Responsibilities
# Takeover After Lead Qualification

Take over qualified leads; read all ERP notes and check client name, location, project type, budget, requirement summary, and lead stage.
Contact the client (within 1–3 working hours), introduce yourself, and confirm project type, number of walls/spaces, wallpaper vs. custom/theme work, availability of wall images and measurements, and urgency.
Ensure full requirement clarity before sharing demos so the lead is never started blindly.
2.Client Interaction & Demo Sharing
Understand style preference — theme, colours, and mood (premium / playful / royal / minimal / educational / luxury).
Create or collect 2–3 suitable demo directions, using the existing design bank wherever possible; coordinate with project designers for preview support if needed.
Share catalogues via drive link, suggest products, and help clients select material; upsell across wall, floor, glass, and window with the right guidance.
Give only enough direction to move the lead forward — do not over-share project-level execution in pre-sale. Avoid final detailed previews at this stage.
3. Measurement Scope & Coordination
Establish clear scope before any measurement — how many rooms/walls, which areas are finalised vs. tentative, and any difficult areas (staircases, windows, niche walls).
Add complete wall-wise notes in ERP before sending any measurement request to KAM / Head of Ops so the site team never goes in blind.
Handle self-measurements when the client has them — collect, validate width/height/openings/images, request missing details, and upload to ERP; never estimate blindly on weak data.
When measurement is chargeable, confirm pricing with KAM first, then share the ERP booking link and secure the measurement advance. Offer a video call to build confidence if the client hesitates.
4.Design Discussion, Estimation & Quotation
Once measurements are uploaded, review sizes, rooms, wall images, and condition notes, and schedule a structured design discussion (Google Meet) with the client.
Confirm wall-wise design direction and priority walls; set clear expectations and avoid vague promises.
Prepare quotations and measurement-based estimates (scope L1/L2/L3), applying approved discounts, and explain the estimate clearly to the client.

Own the estimate → payment stage: follow up for advance and resolve doubts on design, estimate, scope, and next steps.
# Payment Closure & Handover

Convert the client to advance payment following the payment structure (30% advance after demo, 60% after final measurement preview approval, 10% after installation/dispatch/print), and take signature on the invoice.
Prepare a complete handover package: measurement data, wall details, design-direction summary, client expectations, quotation summary, payment status, wall-information PPT, and special notes.
Introduce the KAM in the client group, hand over cleanly, then exit — the handover must be complete enough that KAM and Creative Lead can continue without re-asking basics.
6.Data Management & Design Bank
Save all demos, previews, proposals, quotations, references, and client-preference notes systematically with keywords, category, project type, theme, room type, and lead reference.
Build a retrievable internal design bank to speed future service, avoid repeated effort, and improve conversion. Never leave client-facing data scattered in chat only.
7.Systems & Communication Discipline
Maintain discipline across ERP, Periscope, DoubleTick, Email, and WhatsApp/KAM groups.
Record every major client decision, wall/area selection, measurement update, stage change, payment confirmation, follow-up date, and next-action owner.
Rule: if it affects the next team action, it must be written in ERP and communicated in the group.
KPIs & Success Metrics
Response time from handover to first client contact; requirement-capture accuracy.
Demo-to-measurement and measurement-to-payment conversion %.
Pre-sale to payment conversion % and average closure time after quotation.
Measurement requests sent with complete wall-wise ERP notes.
Estimate accuracy, quotation-within-SLA %, and low excessive-revision count.
Handover completeness score and design-bank reuse rate.
Candidate Requirements
Proven design + sales experience, ideally in home decor, wallpapers, or interior/space products.
Mandatory hands-on Adobe Photoshop skills for demos, proposals, and client visuals.
Portfolio spanning environmental graphics/installations and print + digital assets (wallpaper, blinds, metal decor, ad creatives, emailers, banners, GIFs).
Strong communication, upselling, and client-handling ability with disciplined ERP/CRM habits.
Structured, fast, and organised — able to keep leads moving within TAT while maintaining brand consistency
