Job Description: The Maintenance Assistant HOD / Senior Foreman in a Ferro Alloys Plant is a vital leadership role. They oversee the mechanical and electrical reliability of high-temperature equipment like Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) and crushers to minimize downtime, optimize production, and enforce strict safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

- Plant Reliability & Upkeep: Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for crushers, conveyors, cooling systems, and furnaces.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and train mechanical/electrical technicians and fitters, assigning daily tasks to ensure smooth, continuous plant operations.
- Breakdown Management: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshoot heavy-duty equipment malfunctions swiftly to prevent severe production losses.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict OSHA, HSE, and statutory safety guidelines, especially regarding high-voltage electrical distribution and extreme heat.




- Resource & Vendor Management: Assist the Head of Department (HOD) with budgeting, spare parts inventory control, and coordinating with external service vendors.

Essential Requirements
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 7 to 15 years of heavy industry experience, with proven hands-on proficiency in Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) and Ferro Alloys (e.g., Ferro Chrome, Ferro Silicon).
- Skills: Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, HT/LT power distribution, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or SAP PM.
