Manufacturing Engineer - Configuration

Department : Manufacturing Engineering

Job Location:- Vemagal, Kolar

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

- Responsible to ensure all products are manufactured to Technical data (Drawings, Specification and tested per ATPs) and as per QMS procedures to ensure compliance with both customer and product specifications.
- To interpret Customer technical data (Drawings, Specifications, engineering instructions, test procedures etc,.) and develop process flow charts, work instructions, and related material to ensure repeatable manufacturing.
- Perform Impact Analysis of the change in Technical documents.
- To record and manage As designed vs As Built configurations. Preparation and issuance of configuration report.
- Analysis of design changes and respond to change introduction point to Design/Customer.
- Conduct change implementation board meetings and communicate Engineering changes to support functions as applicable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Strategic:

- Establishing engineering baselines, interfacing the activities directly involved in the configuration management processes, controlling configuration items.
- Conduct Change Review Board to verify technical feasibility of engineering change proposals and assigning the responsibilities and disposition authority to CRB members.
- Work with Operations and Quality team to develop and implement efficient and secure work methods, Lean material process flows, proper time standards, and acquisition of equipment and tooling for maximum efficiency.
- Cover all aspects of production readiness including assembly reviews(Sequence of build), test procedure reviews and assembly work instructions(Jobcards).

2) Execution/ Implementation:

- Analysis of documents such as Technical Data Package (TDP), contractual directions, etc.



and co-coordinating with change review board to implement amendments to applicable controlled documents.
- Post CRB activities- release of PACOR, SAP migration, cost estimation, follow up with other departments for closure of CRB action items.
- Create and maintain Production BOM based on Drawings and Specifications provided by Airbus.
- Maintaining all configuration baseline documents such as Drawing Applicability List, Standards and Specification Applicability List, ATP, BOM, contractual documents.
- Ensure alignment of the production documentation with applicable technical documentation (Job cards, COS, internal specifications etc,.)
- Managing and follow-up all EQNs and SQNs for any technical clarification from Airbus defence and Space.
- Generating Configuration Reports (CCR) to verify status accounting of the product.

Requirements:

- Knowledge of Aerodynamic principle, aircraft mechanical and avionics systems and different type of aero structure concept, knowledge of Airframe.
- Experience in reviewing drawings and concepts prior to release to ensure the design is optimal for manufacturing.
- Working Knowledge of Configuration analysis, Engineering Change analysis.
- Aware of Aerospace manufacturing quality requirements like AS9100, NADCAP requirements.
- Conceptual clarity and working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
- Must be able to read part and assembly blueprints and with a general understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Thorough knowledge of interpreting part list/ BOM, material used, finishing operations to be performed, notes, references, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Computer Aided Drafting.
- Basic Knowledge of aircraft assembly methodologies and process flow.
- Working knowledge of (Type certified) TC and (Suppliementary type certificate)STC Kits.
- Basic Knowledge of Lean management.
