Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled Tool Engineer with robust knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and tool inventory management. The candidate will be responsible for managing tools, maintaining tool availability, and supporting production by ensuring the timely issue and maintenance of machining tools and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities
Possess in-depth knowledge of machining processes (Conventional Machining/CNC Turning) and engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Manage cutting tools, measuring instruments, tools, and fixtures in the tool crib/store.
Understand customer requirements and tool specifications for component development.
Prepare, verify, and maintain tool lists and tool stock plans.
Issue tools as per operation-wise manufacturing requirements and ensure proper tracking.
Maintain tooling records, setup details, working conditions, and logbooks.
Monitor tool consumption, issue and receipt records, and maintain accurate inventory in the system.
Coordinate the procurement of tooling materials and ensure timely availability.
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration,



and storage of tools and measuring instruments.
Have valuable knowledge of special tool coatings such as TiN (Titanium Nitride), TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride), and AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride).
Follow safety standards and maintain 5S practices in the tool room.
Support production teams by ensuring uninterrupted tool availability.

Required Skills
Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling concepts, and precision machining.
Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
Experience in tool inventory management and tool life monitoring.
Knowledge of cutting tools, measuring instruments, jigs, fixtures, and special tooling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Valuable analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualification
ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience
2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a Tool Room, Tool Crib, or Precision Manufacturing environment.
