Key Responsibilities
Tunnel Civil Infrastructure Maintenance
Carry out inspections of tunnel civil structures including:
Tunnel lining, segments, and portals
Road pavement, shoulders, walkways, and kerbs
Expansion joints, drainage systems, and fire exits
Identify and report structural defects like cracks, spalling, seepage, and water ingress.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are implemented as per the Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP).
Coordination & Execution
Coordinate with contractors for execution of civil maintenance works inside the tunnel and approaches.
Supervise minor civil repairs, pothole patching, concrete works, drainage cleaning, and wall finishing.
Ensure minimal disruption to tunnel operations during maintenance.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily civil inspection records, fault logs, and activity reports.
Support in updating the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and asset inventory.
Prepare periodic reports for submission to internal management and the Authority.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure that all civil maintenance work is carried out in compliance with:
MORTH/IRC/IS codes
PIARC and tunnel-specific safety protocols
