Qualification
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
518 years of experience in procurement for manufacturing, heavy engineering, automotive, railways, or industrial equipment

Key Responsibilities
Source and procure mechanical components, fabricated parts, castings, forgings, machined components, sheet metal parts, fasteners, bearings, valves, hydraulics, and pneumatic items.
Float RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers and evaluate techno-commercial offers.
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts with vendors.
Prepare comparative statements and recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely material availability.
Coordinate with design, production, quality, stores, and planning teams to meet manufacturing schedules.
Develop recent vendors and qualify alternate sources for critical components.
Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Resolve supply issues and expedite delayed deliveries.
Ensure procurement complies with company policies and quality standards.




Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.

Preferred Knowledge
Manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, casting, forging, sheet metal, heat treatment, and surface coating.
Technical drawing interpretation and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Knowledge of Incoterms, GST, and commercial procurement practices.
Exposure to ISO quality systems and supplier audits.
