Job Description Cost Engineer (Manufacturing Industry)

Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare product costing and estimate manufacturing costs for recent and existing products.
Analyze material, labor, machine, and overhead costs.
Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) costing and verify cost accuracy.
Coordinate with the Purchase, Production, Design, and Sales departments for cost-related information.
Prepare quotations and cost sheets for customer enquiries.
Monitor actual production costs and identify cost variances.
Suggest cost reduction and value engineering opportunities without affecting product quality.
Maintain standard costing data and update it periodically.
Evaluate vendor quotations and compare material costs.
Prepare monthly cost analysis and management reports.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions.




Ensure all costing records and documents are maintained accurately and confidentially.
Assist in inventory valuation and stock cost verification.
Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Skills Required
Knowledge of manufacturing costing and cost analysis.
Positive understanding of BOM, material costing, and production processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Valuable communication and coordination skills.
