Production Supervisor Dar es Salaam Plant

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Experience: Minimum 15–18 years in Plastic Manufacturing

Education – CIPET/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Role Objective

Manage day-to-day production operations at TPPL’s Dar es Salaam plant, ensuring efficient output, consistent quality, and smooth coordination with central planning and management. This role focuses more on operational execution than strategic plant leadership.
Core Manufacturing Processes
Injection Moulding
Blow Moulding
Injection Blow Moulding (IBM)
PET Preform & Stretch Blow Moulding (as applicable to plant capacity)
Key Responsibilities

A. Production & Process Control
Execute daily production plans as per targets and schedules.
Supervise machine operations, mould changes, and material handling.
Monitor cycle time, rejection, and output to meet production targets.
Ensure proper PET resin drying and process discipline.

B. Quality Assurance
Conduct and supervise in-process quality checks.
Ensure adherence to product specifications and SOPs.
Report defects, deviations, and support corrective actions.

Troubleshooting & Improvement
Handle routine process issues and escalate major problems when required.
Support initiatives to reduce rejection and improve productivity.
Coordinate with maintenance for breakdown and preventive activities.

D. Team Supervision
Supervise operators, technicians, and shift supervisors.
Train operators on correct machine operation, quality checks, and safety.
Maintain shift discipline and manpower utilization.

E. Reporting & Compliance
Maintain daily production, rejection, and material usage reports.
Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and plant hygiene standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
Solid hands-on experience in Injection, Blow, IBM, and PET processes.
Practical troubleshooting ability.
Valuable communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Preferred Attributes
FMCG / cosmetic packaging exposure preferred
Prior experience working in Africa is an advantage
Versatile to work as per production requirements
