About The Role

Redwood Distribution is looking for an A&R; Research Intern to help discover emerging artists, independent labels, regional music trends, and new catalog opportunities. This role is for someone who genuinely listens to music, understands internet culture, follows artist growth, and can spot potential before it becomes obvious. You will support Redwood’s artist and label growth strategy by researching talent across Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud, and regional music communities.

You will work closely with the Redwood team to identify promising artists, prepare research notes, organize artist leads, and support outreach planning.

Responsibilities Research emerging independent artists and labels across India and global markets.

Track artists by genre, monthly listeners, social growth, release activity, and engagement.

Discover potential artists for distribution, partnership, or catalog acquisition opportunities.

Build and maintain artist research sheets with practical data and notes.

Identify trends in regional music, electronic music, hip-hop, indie pop and instrumental niches.

Study playlists,



YouTube channels, Spotify profiles, Instagram pages, and creator communities.

Prepare short artist discovery reports for internal review.

Support the team with A&R; outreach planning and market research.

Requirements
Robust interest in music, independent artists, and the creator economy.

Good research skills and attention to detail.

Comfortable using Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud, and basic web research.

Ability to judge artist potential using both data and taste.

Basic understanding of genres, audience growth, and release consistency.

Valuable written communication skills.

Comfortable working with Google Sheets or Excel.

Self-driven and able to work remotely with clear updates. Nice to Have Knowledge of Indian independent music scenes.

Interest in electronic music, regional music, and other genres.

Experience managing playlists, music pages, fan communities, or artist accounts.
Basic understanding of music distribution.
