EdPlatza Tuition is looking for a mid-level Backend Developer with approximately 3–6 years of hands-on experience building and supporting scalable, production-grade backend applications. This is an individual contributor role focused on designing, developing, deploying, supporting, and continuously improving backend services that power our education platform. You will work closely with product and frontend teams in a lean, fast-moving setting. Role Fit

This role is designed for engineers with approximately 3–6 years of hands-on backend development experience who want to remain hands-on and grow as individual contributors. Key Responsibilities

Develop, deploy, support, and continuously improve scalable backend applications using Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, MongoDB, and AWS (EC2, S3, API Gateway, ECR, etc.).

Design, build, and optimise secure RESTful APIs, implement authentication and authorisation, and integrate third-party services.

Optimise database schemas, queries, application performance, scalability, security, and reliability while monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.

Write clean, reusable, well-tested code,



following engineering best practices using Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver high-quality features, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of backend services and development practices.

Candidate

Profile

Approximately 3–6 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting production-grade backend applications as an individual contributor.

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, MongoDB, REST APIs, AWS, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Good understanding of backend architecture, software design principles, authentication, security, logging, monitoring, and automated testing.

Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver reliable, production-quality software.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Nice to Have

Familiarity with GraphQL.

Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or quick-paced product setting.
