: Credit Officer Job summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Credit Underwriter to join our financial team. In this role, you will evaluate creditworthiness and make informed lending decisions based on a thorough analysis of financial data. Key Responsibilities Review and analyse loan applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents.

Assess the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses by evaluating their financial history and current financial situation.

Make recommendations for loan approvals, conditions, or denials based on established underwriting guidelines.

Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to gather necessary documentation and provide insights on credit decisions.

Stay updated on industry regulations, lending policies, and best practices to ensure compliance.





Prepare detailed reports and documentation of underwriting decisions for internal and external review.

Identify potential risks and communicate findings to management as necessary. Participate in training and career development to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience as a credit underwriter or in a similar role within the financial services industry.

Robust understanding of credit analysis, risk assessment, and lending practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in using underwriting software and financial analysis tools.

Robust attention to detail and organisational skills.
