Position Title: Looker Developer / BI Developer
Experience: 8+ Yrs
Location: PAN India - Shift - 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Job Summary

The Looker Developer serves as the primary expert for our Looker business intelligence platform. This role involves modeling data using LookML, optimizing Google BigQuery database structures, and collaborating with data engineering and business stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling: Design, develop, and maintain scalable LookML models, views, and explores.
Dashboard Creation: Build, customize, and optimize interactive Looker dashboards and reports.
Performance Tuning: Optimize Looker queries and caching policies to ensure rapid dashboard load times.
BigQuery Integration: Collaborate with data teams to optimize Google BigQuery table schemas, partitioning, and clustering for Looker consumption.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather requirements from business units to translate business logic into data definitions.
Data Governance: Implement and maintain robust data governance practices, version control (Git), and access permissions.
User Enablement:



Train and support non-technical business users on how to use Looker self-service features.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Looker Expertise: Minimum 3 years of dedicated experience writing LookML and administering Looker instances.
SQL & BigQuery Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills specifically tailored for Google BigQuery, including writing optimized queries, window functions, and managing datasets.
Version Control: Proficient with Git workflows for version controlling LookML code.
Analytical Mindset: Solid ability to analyze complex data sets and extract meaningful business insights.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications
Certification: Looker Certified LookML Developer, Looker Certified Business Analyst, or Google Cloud Certified Data Engineer credentials.
Data Modeling Paradigms: Familiarity with Kimball methodology or star schema data modeling.
dbt Experience: Experience using dbt (data build tool) for upstream data transformation in Google BigQuery.
