We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead our global data engineering team from our Pune-based GCC. This role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on building scalable data platforms using modern technologies like Databricks, Python, and big data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a distributed team of 8+ data engineers across geographies
Architect and oversee development of robust, scalable data pipelines and platforms
Collaborate with global stakeholders across Product, Data Science, and Business Analytics
Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of data systems
Drive best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and documentation
Mentor and coach engineers for technical growth and career development
Manage sprint planning, delivery timelines, and stakeholder communication
Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in software/data engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience managing engineering teams of 8+ members




Proven experience working with global or GCC-based development teams
Strong expertise in
Databricks and Apache Spark
Python for data workflows
Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Delta Lake, Kafka)
Solid understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data settings
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
Certifications in cloud or data engineering platforms
