Role & responsibilities
Exploration & Strategy: Design, implement, and manage advanced geological exploration, drilling, and sampling programs.
Geological Modeling: Interpret structural, stratigraphic, and geophysical data to build high-quality 3D resource/reservoir models.
Field Supervision: Oversee field operations, including core logging, mapping, well-site operations, and contractor management.
Resource Estimation: Evaluate and estimate resource/reserve volumes in compliance with industry reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101, or SPE-PRMS).
Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate geological risks, uncertainties, and geohazards to optimize project development.
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and supervise junior geologists, field technicians, and data personnel
Preferred candidate profile Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in geological exploration, mining, or petroleum development.
Software Proficiency: Advanced expertise in industry-standard modeling and GIS software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Petrel, ArcGIS, or QGIS).
Data Interpretation: Solid background in structural geology, geochemistry, geophysics, and petrophysical log interpretation.
Project Management: Proven track record of managing project budgets, timelines, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Communication: Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance: Deep understanding of environmental regulations and a strict commitment to workplace Health, Safety, and Workplace (HSE) standards.
