Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with strong expertise in ACL Testing, Manual Testing, and Linux Command Line to validate ACL interoperability across NFS and SMB environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience executing system and file-system test cases, validating file permissions, users, groups, and access controls, while documenting test results with precision. Exposure to storage, NAS, or protocol testing is highly preferred.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Execute ACL interoperability test cases across NFS and SMB environments.

Validate file and directory permissions, ownership, users, groups, and effective access.

Perform manual testing for file operations such as create, read, write, modify, rename, delete, and execute.

Verify ACL inheritance, permission propagation, access-denied scenarios, and effective permissions.

Execute Linux commands (chmod, chown, getfacl,



setfacl) and analyze command outputs.

Compare expected vs. actual results and document observations with logs and evidence.

Reproduce issues, capture terminal outputs, and support defect investigation.

Maintain test execution status using TestRail/JIRA and prepare detailed defect reports.

Collaborate with development and engineering teams to resolve file system and protocol-related issues.

Support testing of enterprise storage, NAS, and distributed file systems.

Required Skills

8–12 years of experience in Manual/System Testing.

Strong hands-on experience in ACL Testing.

Positive knowledge of NFS and SMB/CIFS protocols.

Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills.

Experience with Linux file permissions, users, groups, and ACL commands.

Experience with TestRail, test execution, and defect management.

Knowledge of file-system, storage, or NAS testing.

Positive understanding of command execution, log analysis, and troubleshooting.

Valuable to Have

Python or Shell scripting.

Experience with NAS or distributed storage platforms.

Knowledge of Windows ACLs and access management.

Exposure to Jira and automation scripting.
