– IT Technician (School)

Job Summary

The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the school's IT infrastructure, including computers, printers, networking equipment, CCTV systems, interactive panels, and classroom technology. The role ensures all IT systems function efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktop PCs, laptops, and operating systems.
Diagnose and repair computer hardware issues, including RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboards, power supplies, and peripherals.
Install, maintain, and repair printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
Troubleshoot and repair LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and network connectivity issues.
Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and access control devices.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot interactive panels, smart boards, projectors, and classroom AV equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance of IT equipment to reduce downtime.
Replace faulty hardware components and coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs when required.
Install and update software, drivers, and antivirus solutions.




Provide technical support to teachers, staff, and students for IT-related issues.
Maintain IT asset inventory, service records, and documentation.
Ensure regular data backup and follow basic cybersecurity practices.

Required Skills
Robust knowledge of PC hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
Experience with printer installation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and basic networking.
Experience with CCTV installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with interactive panels, smart boards, and projectors.
Valuable troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repair skills.
Ability to work independently and respond quickly to technical issues.

Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in IT support and hardware repair (school experience preferred).
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications are an added advantage.
