Core Responsibilities
Assembly & Fitting: Assemble and fit mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods according to technical drawings and blueprints.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the repair, replacement of worn parts, and routine preventive maintenance of industrial machinery.
Tool Handling: Safely utilize hand and power tools, measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators), and workshop equipment (lathes, drilling machines, grinders).
Fabrication: Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping,



and filing tasks to construct or alter mechanical parts.
Quality Control: Inspect fabricated and assembled parts to ensure they meet required dimensions and tolerance limits.

Key Requirements
Education: ITI pass in the Fitter trade (recognized by NCVT/SCVT). Many programs also require a 10th-standard pass.
Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Safety Adherence: Strict understanding of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and industrial safety rules.
Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, perform manual labor, and lift heavy equipment/materials safely.
