Job Summary
A Rigger Technician is responsible for safely lifting, moving, positioning, and securing heavy equipment and materials using cranes, hoists, slings, chains, and other rigging equipment. The role requires strict adherence to safety regulations and coordination with crane operators and site personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and maintain rigging equipment before use.
Select the appropriate slings, shackles, hooks, and lifting accessories.
Attach and secure loads for protected lifting and transportation.
Direct crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication.
Ensure all lifting operations comply with safety standards and lifting plans.
Identify and report damaged or defective rigging equipment.
Read and interpret lifting plans, load charts, and technical drawings.
Maintain a clean and secure work workplace.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Complete rigging-related documentation and inspection records.
