Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a Kafka Application Support Engineer with strong experience in Apache / confluent Kafka, intermediate Linux administration, SQL, and scripting.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Kafka-based applications and ensuring high availability and performance of the system.

Knowledge of Redis will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide L2/L3 support for Kafka-based applications and infrastructure

Monitor Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, partitions, and consumer lag

Troubleshoot production issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies

Perform Kafka configuration changes (ISR, replication, retention, etc.) as needed

Work with development teams to resolve application-related issues

Manage and support Linux-based settings (logs, processes, disk usage, etc.)





Write and maintain shell/Python scripts for automation and operational tasks

Execute SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting

Support Redis caching layer, including monitoring and basic troubleshooting

Participate in on-call support and handle incident management
Ensure proper documentation of issues, resolutions, and procedures

Required Skills:

Solid hands-on experience with Apache / confluent Kafka (cluster management, troubleshooting)

Intermediate knowledge of Linux/Unix systems

Valuable experience with SQL (queries, joins, performance basics)

Understanding of Kafka concepts like ISR, partitions, replication, consumer groups

Experience with monitoring tools (e.g.Dynatrace.)

Experience with the Redis caching layer, including monitoring and basic troubleshooting
