Security Operations Engineer (L1) Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a Security Operations Engineer (L1) to join the Cyber Security team. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring security infrastructure, handling basic incident response activities, supporting VAPT remediation, managing firewall operations, and assisting with security validation activities using Cymulate.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Handling
Monitor SIEM alerts and security dashboards.
Perform initial triage of security incidents and escalate when required.
Analyze suspicious activities, malware alerts, phishing attempts, and endpoint events.
Maintain incident logs and prepare daily security reports.

Firewall Management
Monitor and manage firewall policies and rule changes.
Troubleshoot firewall/network-related security issues.




Review VPN access and security configurations.
Support firewall audits and compliance checks.

VAPT Support
Coordinate and track Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT) activities.
Validate vulnerabilities identified during assessments.
Work with IT/application teams for remediation tracking.
Prepare vulnerability closure reports.

Cymulate Operations
Execute breach and attack simulation exercises using Cymulate.
Analyse simulation results and identify security gaps.
Assist in validating security controls like Email Security, Endpoint Security, Web Gateway, and Firewall effectiveness.
Generate security posture assessment reports.Role & responsibilities
