Key Responsibilities
Precision Metrology & Inspection: Set up, calibrate, and operate advanced laser tracker systems (e.g., API , Faro & Leica) and spatial analyzer software to perform large-scale 3D coordinate measurements on aircraft structures.
Aircraft Assembly Verification: Inspect structural assemblies, fuselage alignments, wing attachments, and system installations against blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze 3D measurement data, generate comprehensive inspection reports, and identify deviations from design tolerances (GD&T;).
Tooling & Jig Alignment: Assist manufacturing teams in the periodic calibration, alignment, and leveling of assembly jigs, fixtures, and production tooling.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain quality records, sign-offs, and first-article inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS9100 standards.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action: Manage NCR, SCAR, and deviation requests & Root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone
Requirements
Required:
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection, specifically within structural assembly.
Metrology Expertise: Hands-on experience operating Laser Trackers (Leica, Faro, or API) and utilizing metrology software (e.g., SpatialAnalyzer, PolyWorks, or Verisurf).
Technical Literacy: Expert ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and 3D CAD models.
GD&T; Proficiency: Robust working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;).
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation quality management standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical certification Aerospace Technology, or a related field.
Experience with additional metrology tools like portable CMM arms (FaroArm, Hexagon) or photogrammetry.
