Job Purpose
To design, develop, validate, and maintain the core software systems powering robotic-assisted surgical platforms. The role involves developing real-time, safety-critical applications, implementing robotic control and visualization software, integrating hardware and software subsystems, and ensuring compliance with global medical device software standards.
The engineer will work at the intersection of robotics, medical device software engineering, real-time systems, and surgical technology to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions for next-generation surgical robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical Robotics Software Development
Develop, maintain, and optimize software applications for robotic-assisted surgical systems.
Design and implement robust desktop and operator-console applications using C# and WPF.
Develop software modules for real-time robotic control,
visualization, monitoring, and user interaction.
Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of software deployed in safety-critical settings.
Robotic Control & Real-Time Systems
Implement software interfaces for robotic motion control, sensor feedback, and actuator coordination.
Develop multi-threaded and real-time software components for deterministic robotic operation.
Support integration with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and high-performance control frameworks.
Optimize latency, responsiveness, and system stability for surgical workflows.
Robotics Integration & Communication
Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, firmware, and controls engineering teams to integrate robotic subsystems.
Develop and maintain interfaces using ROS (Robot Operating System) and industrial communication protocols.
