Job Summary
Associate Vice President– Technology Procurement Role Purpose The Associate Vice President – Technology Procurement is a senior enterprise leadership role responsible for defining and executing the organization’s global technology sourcing strategy and commercial governance. This role drives enterprise value by optimizing technology spend, strengthening supplier ecosystems, and ensuring resilient, secure, and commercially sustainable technology partnerships. The AVP will act as the organization’s senior authority on technology procurement strategy, enabling innovation while balancing cost, risk, scalability, and long-term business outcomes. Working closely with the CIO, CTO, CISO, Finance, and executive leadership, the AVP will shape the commercial framework that supports the organization’s technology transformation, digital investments, and global operating model.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Technology Procurement Strategy
Define and implement a multi-year global technology procurement strategy aligned with enterprise growth, digital transformation, and technology modernization. Lead sourcing strategy across all major technology categories including:
• Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Software and enterprise platforms
• Infrastructure and hardware
• Telecommunications and networking
• Cybersecurity technologies
• Technology consulting and system integrators
Establish enterprise procurement policies, governance frameworks, and controls for technology spend and supplier engagement. Drive long-term value creation through category strategies, supplier innovation,
and cost optimization initiatives.
2. Commercial Strategy & Contract Leadership
Serve as the enterprise authority on technology commercial models, including:
• Subscription licensing
• Consumption-based pricing
• Enterprise agreements
• Outsourcing and managed services
• Platform and ecosystem partnerships
Lead negotiations for high-value global contracts and strategic technology partnerships. Drive enterprise financial outcomes through:
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization
• ROI-driven technology investment decisions
• Consumption optimization and license management
Ensure robust commercial risk management across contracts, pricing structures, service commitments, and regulatory requirements.
3. Strategic Supplier & Vendor Management
Build and manage a strategic global supplier ecosystem that balances innovation, resilience, vendor concentration risk, and competitive leverage. Establish enterprise supplier governance frameworks including:
• Performance scorecards
• Risk monitoring
• Service level management
• Innovation and value creation programs
Lead executive-level supplier engagement, including strategic reviews, governance forums, and long-term partnership planning. Drive supplier accountability across cost, service quality, security posture, and business continuity.
4. Enterprise Collaboration & Executive Advisory
Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO, CTO, CISO, CFO, Legal, and business leadership on technology sourcing and commercial strategy. Influence enterprise technology investment decisions through data-driven insights and commercial analysis. Provide procurement leadership across major technology transformation initiatives, cloud migrations, and digital programs. Represent technology procurement in executive forums and governance boards where required.

Skill Requirements
Technology Procurement Expertise
Deep expertise in global IT sourcing and procurement strategy. Strong understanding of:
• Cloud economics
• Enterprise software licensing
• Technology platforms and infrastructure
• IT financial management
Proven track record negotiating large enterprise agreements with major global vendors such as:
• Microsoft
• AWS
• Google
• Oracle
• SAP
• IBM
• Cisco
Global system integrators
Leadership & Strategic Capabilities
Executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite and senior leadership stakeholders. Exceptional negotiation and commercial structuring skills. Strong analytical and strategic mindset, translating data into enterprise-level decisions. Ability to operate effectively in large, complex, global organizations undergoing transformation. Experience leading teams through scale, ambiguity, and organizational change.
Other Requirements
15–22 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or commercial leadership. Minimum 8–10 years in leadership roles within Technology Procurement. Demonstrated success leading large-scale global sourcing programs and enterprise negotiations. Experience within multinational organizations, preferably in:
• Technology
• Financial services
• Telecommunications
• Consulting
• Global capability centers (GCCs)
Education & Qualified Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline. MBA or Postgraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Technology Management preferred. Professional certifications are advantageous:

• ITIL
