Trading Research Intern — Manifest CapitalAbout Manifest CapitalManifest Capital is a proprietary, fundamentals-first investment and trading firm focused on opportunities across public and private markets.We look for compelling business and asset narratives—and then meticulously test those narratives against financial performance, industry dynamics and economic reality.We are hiring a Trading Research Intern to work directly with the Founder and support the firm's public-markets trading research.The role:The intern will independently analyse companies and sectors, prepare structured research reports and present their findings verbally to the Founder.The objective is not merely to collect information. The candidate must be able to connect macroeconomic, industry and company-level developments, form an informed view on a company's earnings cycle and respond to detailed follow-up questions that support timely trading decisions.Typical responsibilities will include:Tracking relevant macroeconomic, sector and company-specific developmentsAnalysing business models, industry structures and competitive positioningIdentifying the factors affecting revenue, costs, margins and earningsStudying demand cycles, consumption behaviour and capital-expenditure trendsReading financial statements, annual reports,
investor presentations and management commentaryPreparing structured company and sector research reportsPresenting conclusions verbally and answering questions on the researchContinuously updating the thesis as new information emergesWhat we are looking for:The candidate should have an understanding of the global macroeconomic environment, including but not limited to:Inflation, interest rates, bond yields and monetary policyForeign-exchange movementsFiscal policyInternational trade policy and geopolitical relationshipsCommodity cyclesEconomic growth and business cycles across major economiesThe candidate should also understand the fundamentals of a business, including:Industry structures, competitive dynamics and economic moatsBusiness models and the drivers of company revenue, costs and marginsFinancial statements and key financial ratiosThe relationship between macroeconomic developments and company earningStrong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The candidate should be comfortable working with financial data, thinking independently and explaining complex ideas clearly.We are not looking for prior market experience.
